So many mysteries, so little time to read them. Here are a few upcoming February releases that have piqued my interest:

Title: A Murder of Magpies Author: Judith Flanders
Release Date: February 24, 2015 ISBN: 9781250056450
Plot: An unpublished manuscript on a fashion industry scandal embroils a London book editor in a criminal investigation.
Why? I really like the title and cover, and the publishing world has always fascinated me-it seems so intense and exciting. Also a plus is the setting in London (and, at some point, Paris). My only concern is whether I will like the heroine or not. According to the copy, she is a “too-clever-for-her-own-good new amateur sleuth”, meaning she will either be brilliant or grating. I’m hoping for brilliant.

Title: The First Wife Author: Erica Spindler
Release Date: February 10, 2015 ISBN: 9781250012548
Plot: A newlywed questions how well she knows her new husband when rumors surface about his first wife’s disappearance and his link to other missing women in the area.
Why? There’s something Rebecca-ish about the plot line: a new bride arrives at her husband’s estate after a whirlwind romance and slowly discovers her husband, and her idyllic new life, may not be what it seems at all. I haven’t read any of Spindler’s other mysteries/thrillers, but reviewers on Goodreads have rated her highly.

Title: By Book or By Crook Author: Eva Gates
Release Date: February 03, 2015 ISBN: 9780451470935
Plot: A woman becomes entangled in a mystery involving theft and murder when she accepts an unexpected job opportunity at a lighthouse library.
Why? I practically grew up in a library, so I tend to enjoy mysteries set in them. A library in a lighthouse sounds awesome, and the Outer Banks locale should provide tons of atmosphere. This is the first in the Lighthouse Library mystery series.
Those are my picks for February 2015. What new mystery releases are you anticipating?
